Creature Comforts US cancelled

By alain on Friday 29 June, 2007

In the USA there is no place anymore for the Aardman series Creature Comforts. After only three episodes the show is cancelled. The new series was produced for the American audience, however the ratings weren’t good enough. And like it is so often: ratings over quality. Because of this sad decision there are still 4 non-aired episodes laying around. The creators of Creature Comforts US ask their viewers to pressure CBS to still air the remaining episodes. Below you can have a look, see what you think of it.

New Wall-E clip - Working to dig you out

By wendy on Wednesday 27 June, 2007

Everyone that buys the Ratatouille videogame gets a closer look at the new Pixar movie Wall-E. Luckilly JV from JV Pixar News captured the clip so we can also enjoy it.

“Wall-E is a product of the buy n large coorporation, all rights reserved. Wall-E is not designed to function under water, in lunar gravity or in active lava flows. For a demonstration of Wall-e’s many other functions please visit any buynlarge showroom or voice command your hollowscreen to www.buynlarge.com.”

Sadly this site doesn’t work. The domaine is registered by the company Tucows. They will probably jump for joy when they ‘ll soon receive all this extra publicity!

Update: Apparently Tucows is the registration company that registered the domain for Disney. So Disney is the domainname holder for www.buynlarge.com

Bee Movie, Wall-E and Sicko same trailer music?

By wendy on Friday 22 June, 2007

I didn’t notice it until now, but there are 3 movies of which 2 competing animation movies that use the same music in their trailer.  Bee Movie, Wall-E and Michael Moore’s Sicko all use the same song! I think it’s a variation of that famous Brazilian samba song which you can listen to here. If anybody knows the specifics of the song, you are very welcome to share the information.

  • Throughout the complete trailer of Bee Movie
  • At the end of Wall-E
  • A bit after the beginning of Sicko

Strange?

Shake, tremble and laugh with Monstermania! - Release 2008

By wendy on Friday 22 June, 2007

monstermania2.jpgMonstermania! is a computer animated horror-comedy created by Uli Meyer. The project is a cooperation between the London-based Meyer Studio, Ittina Animation Studios from India and Cinecarat from Switzerland. The story is written by top writers Michael Marshall Smith and Stephen Jones.

In this mix of horror and comedy you meet Max van Helsing, a young scientist who, by the will of his deceased grandfather, leaves on an exciting and dangerous adventure. He has to travel to the country of Wallachia in the heart of Eastern Europe. Upon arrival Max comes face to face with classical monsters like Frankenstein, a bunch of werewolves and a lot more bizarre and scary creatures. Of course there is also the girl of his dreams he has to save from the hands of the greatest evil the world has ever known: Vlad or shall we call him Count Dracula.

On the Umbackagain blog from Uli Meyer himself you can follow the development of the movie. There are some good writers behind this animated feature and the mix of horror and comedy looks quite promising. Monstermania! is planned for a worldwide release in 2008. When you click further, there are some great movie posters to admire.
